My mission is to positively impact a million people. Not directly. Through you.
By teaching everything I know about relational coaching, about building sustainable programmes, and about what it actually means to care for people over 50 in a local community.
That mission only works if yours is as clear as mine.
Get more clients. Build a stable income. Maybe go full-time. I hear some version of that from almost every coach I work with. Those are outcomes. Not a mission.
Outcomes describe what you're chasing. A mission describes why the chasing is worth it.
The person you serve is at a high-stakes point in their life. The decisions they make in the next decade will shape the final third of their life in ways that are hard to reverse.
How they move, how they eat, who they spend time with, what they're still willing to try.
You are not running a fitness programme. You are influencing what that decade looks like for a specific person.
Here's what's easy to miss: if you don't know what you're actually here to do, you're not just unclear, you're not fully present with the person in front of you.
You're coaching toward a number instead of coaching the human. They feel that, even when they can't name it.
If you can't answer it in a sentence, spend ten minutes with it this week.
Not as a marketing exercise.
As an honest answer to the question: what am I actually here to do, and who does it reach beyond the person standing in front of me?
Paul
